About Me & Press/PR

I’m Louise-Claire- a vegan, garden, nature, bees  and cat loving person.  I live just outside of London with The Gardener, Poppy – who was a super cute kitten when this blog was started,  Persia the cat, lots of fish who live in our pond, a toad or two and 2 beehives. There is a deer sanctuary at the bottom of our garden and we are avid vegetable growers & consumers.

Poppy & the Bees came about because I had just moved to this gorgeous village at the end of the Central Line, and spent a summer digging, growing, picking and then experimenting with cooking all the produce from our garden. I love to cook, in an easy-going, vegetable focussed way, that is tasty, fun and welcoming, so we have loads of friends come & visit- whether for a Sunday lunch, a party or a whole weekend.

So I found myself scribbling recipes on bits of paper for people to take away, or promising & forgetting to email what I had done… and eventually thought it might be easier to just write a blog about my food & the vegetables that we have grown that have inspired the dishes.

This has meant that I have started to look at more on how food is processed, I how I grow food, why and how we grow food & the journey it goes through to get to us as a consumer… It has also meant I have started thinking (even) more about how I consume, what I put in  and on my body and how it affects not only me, but the world around us.

Share with me my successes & failures in the garden & kitchen.

I’m PR/Press/Brand friendly. My day job is in retail & product marketing, so I’m very aware of the needs of the industry. Do please get in contact if you think your brand might be a good fit with my blog.

Hi Louise Claire, I can’t seem to access your ingredients and method for the lentil hummus. I just wanted to know which particular lentils you recommend. We’re having your caponata tonight.Looking forward. Fran

      Hi Fran!
Oh- The whole recipe has completely disappeared! I’ll pop it back up soon. The lentils I used were green lentils, the method is pretty much the same as ordinary hummus!
Hope you like the Caponata! x Louise
