Runner beans, they’re running away with us..

I just can’t quite believe the sheer volume of runner beans that we have grown this year, we have eaten & eaten them, – in tomato sauce, japanese style with sesame, in frittatas & in stir frys, I’ve even made very misguided picklesΒ (yuck.. really not nice) & I have frozen kilos & kilos of them.. It’s almost the end of September, and tonight I walked out & picked another great armful..Runner beans on the vine

Off I trot to think of another recipe.. and to freeze some more. I know come mid-winter I’ll be glad I’ve frozen so many, to have a reminder of the lushness of late summer & a zing of green from our garden.
